SAICFF Preliminary Post

Wow, what a fantastic week! It's a good thing my Mom learned how to text, because I never even had time to call home (except once or twice). I never had any down time, especially once the Festival started. I'll post more in depth later (right now I'm in the car on our second day traveling from San Antonio back to Virginia, so I'm on my iPhone), but I thought I'd try out this blogging app and share some of my iPhone pictures from this week.

My first experience at an In-N-Out (which was great!):

I can't even tell you how exhausted I am, but it was a wonderful week and I'm sad it's over. I flew to Texas, but now I'm riding back in the car with Mr. Escobar (founder of Advent Film Group), his son Vincent, and my friend Peter Forbes. They'll be dropping me off within a few hours of my home, so I'll be spending the next two nights with my friend Stephanie and then Mom will pick me up and take me home on Wednesday.

We stopped at a Motel 6 in Memphis last night, and that was quite an experience! But I'll have to tell you more about that later.   :-)

"How Are Things in Glocca Morra?"

Here's the next song! (See the post below about Michelle's Birthday Party for an explanation.)

Michelle's 24th Birthday Party

Last Sunday afternoon, I gathered with several other ladies to celebrate Michelle's 24th birthday!  It was a lovely tea party affair hosted in a beautiful home (belonging to the president of the local college).  Here are some fun pictures from the event...

And here is a video of Michelle and I singing "Tea for Two"!  I love singing with her.  She is so talented, and so good at harmony.  We really need to sing together more often.  :-)

We also recorded "How Are Things in Glocca Morra?" and I hope to upload that this weekend while Daniel is home.  (I can only edit videos on his computer, which slows things down a bit since he's only home on weekends.)

In other news, I LEAVE FOR TEXAS ON SUNDAY MORNING!!!  I can't believe I'll be there in 46 hours!  That's kinda scary...  I should probably start packing...

Ohio Road Trip, Day 4

The final day of our trip! I'm sorry the one video clip of me is blurry. We were in a rush to get back on the road, so we only did one take (and obviously it didn't focus too well). And I apologize for the unsteadiness of the clips while we were driving. The roads in West Virginia were rather bumpy.

Also, by the time we got home, it was too late and we were too tired to do a concluding video, so I just did a voiceover last night (at 2 am, which is why I sound tired!) to kind of wrap it up.  Not how I would have liked to end the "road trip saga," but oh well.

Thanks for watching!  Constructive feedback is definitely welcome.  :-)

Ohio Road Trip, Day 3

Sorry this is a few days late!  There was a lot going on (and it was harder to get the videos uploaded when we didn't have internet in our room).  Anyway, here's a look at day 3 (Friday)...

P.S. We're home safely now! I'm very grateful to God's protection. We were on the road 9 hours yesterday and had to drive through snow for hours coming over the West Virginia mountains.

Ohio Road Trip, Day 2

Okay, here's the next video (from yesterday).  Not as humorous as the last one, but we didn't have as much time to do something interesting.

Ohio Road Trip, Day 1

My first ever vlog post!  Haha!  I've been thinking about doing this for the past few trips I've gone on, but I'm just now getting around to it.  Enjoy!  (And let me know what you think!)

Barn Dance!

Hello, friends!  I have come to a resolution.  Instead of being obsessively organized to the point of not posting anything on here until I can go back and post things in the order they happened (which is very overwhelming, considering a lot has happened since October), I am going to post about a recent event!  This is a huge step for me.  I would really love to start at the beginning and bring this blog up to date in an orderly fashion, but that has kept me far too overwhelmed for far too long (considering there are thousands of pictures to sort through and edit), and I can't bear to let my blog keep sitting idle like this.

Honestly, I really haven't had time to update it with everything that has been going on.  I feel like I'm hardly ever at home anymore!  And when I am, there are so many other things to be doing (both on and off the computer), that updating my blog never makes it to the top of the priority list.  But now I'm going to take just a few minutes to let you know I'm still alive, and post some pictures and a video from a Barn Dance that we went to on Saturday!

The Barn Dance was so much fun!  The Alexander family hosted it on their farm, and there were all sorts of fun activities for the whole family.  Some of the highlights included lunch (featuring pit-roasted pork from the farm), a greased-pig chasing contest, lots of dancing in the barn, and a concert by a local band!  Here's a little video I put together:

I wish I had gotten a lot more footage, but I was too busy socializing, having fun, and loving on this sweet little darling:

My brother Daniel called the dances, and did a great job.  He's even busier than I am these days.  He's working at the General Assembly as a legislative aide for our new senator.  It's quite a drive from here, so he's staying with a wonderful family down there and comes home on the weekends.

Eventually, I'll try to get you updated on some of the other things I've been doing in the past few months.  One of my big projects has been creating a personal website!  It's almost done, so stay tuned and I'll hopefully be able to share the address with you soon.  :-)
